Apply to the BON for NCLEX eligibility.
Register with Pearson VUE (NCLEX).
Await Authorization to Test (ATT) from the BON.

Tip: Most mentees book within 14 days and target 6–12 weeks of prep (timelines vary by background and schedule).
Quick Start: English Exam Checklist (DIY)
Select your exam: IELTS (Academic) or OET (Nursing)—both commonly accepted for VisaScreen and employer requirements.
Book a test date and create a 6–8 week study plan.
Send results to your credentialing service (e.g., CGFNS VisaScreen) per their instructions.
Keep a copy of your scores for AOLA and your BON file.
Note: Minimum scores and accepted tests can vary by credentialing service and state. We’ll help you confirm the correct target scores inside the Mentorship.
Do I need both NCLEX and an English exam?
Yes. NCLEX is required for U.S. RN licensure; an approved English exam is typically required for credentials screening and employment.
Which English test should I choose—IELTS or OET?
Both are commonly accepted. We’ll help you pick based on your strengths, target timelines, and credentialing needs.
Will AOLA pay my exam fees?
Exam and credentialing fees are typically paid by the applicant. Some employers may offer reimbursement after hire—details vary.
Can AOLA place me before I complete the exams?
No. Hospitals require proof of licensure eligibility and English proficiency. The Mentorship exists to help you complete these steps efficiently.
What If I can't afford the Mentorship Program?
We understand finances can be tight. AOLA offers flexible payment plans and we’ll work with you to find a schedule that fits. Please note: your mentorship does not begin until payment has been made in full. To explore a plan, submit a request and our team will follow up with options.
