Nkiru Nwokike is a compassionate and accomplished nurse whose journey reflects courage, resilience, and dedication. A married mother of two, she recently immigrated to the United States through the EB-3 visa program and now serves as a Registered Nurse at a leading U.S. hospital.

With a background in midwifery and a strong foundation in patient-centered care, Nkiru brings both professional expertise and personal insight into the realities of international nursing. Her story highlights the challenges and triumphs of transitioning into U.S. healthcare — from navigating immigration to building a new life for her family.

Meet Our Guest Speaker: Elaine Kimbrell, J.D.

Elaine Kimbrell is the Owner and Managing Attorney of Ware | Immigration. She earned her B.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University and her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans. Elaine began her career as a constituent services representative for U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu, where she discovered her passion for immigration law.

She joined Ware | Immigration in 2006, initially handling family-based cases before specializing in employment-based immigration, advising universities and private employers in industries such as healthcare, oil and gas, public utilities, and accounting. In 2023, she became the sole owner and manager of the firm, which is now a WBENC-Certified Women’s Business Enterprise.

Elaine is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, a past Chair of its Midsouth section, and an active NAFSA member. She is a frequent presenter on a wide range of immigration topics.
